The Thai Metrics can sometimes be confusing. Here is a brief explanation about how to understand the Thai Metrics and how to convert it in common metrics such as Sqm or Sqf. You can also simply use our conversion tool to convert the Thai metrics in Square Meters or Square Feet.
The Thai measurements are split in 3 categories, Rai, Ngan and Square Wah.
The Square Wah being the smallest metrics, here is how to understand the Thai metrics:
100 Square Wah (Sqw) is equivalent to 1 Ngan.
400 Square Wah (Sqw) is equivalent to 4 Ngan or 1 Rai
4 Ngan is equivalent to 1 Rai.
Example of reading Thai Metrics: 1-3-54 = 1 Rai, 3Ngan and 54 Square Wah.
Equivalent of Thai Metrics and Sqm:
1 square Wah = 4 sqm
1 Ngan = 400 sqm
1 Rai = 1600 sqm
Equivalent of Thai Metrics and Square Feet:
1 square Wah = 43.0556 sqf
1 Ngan = 4305.56 sqf
1 Rai = 17,222.26 sqf
